September is Recovery Month!

Good afternoon,
The Division of Behavioral Health is excited to note that Recovery Month 2018 is officially under way.  Please see the attached memo from Ross Edmunds, Administrator for the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Behavioral Health as well as the 2018 Recovery Month Proclamation from Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter.

IROAR
The month-long celebration of recovery kicked off with the Idaho Recovery Open Awareness Ride (IROAR) where motorcyclists raised awareness by joining for a statewide motorcycle ride that started in Emmett on August 30, traveled throughout Idaho, and finished with a rally on the steps of the Capitol on September 3.  See a map of the route IROAR took to the left.  IROAR stopped at all nine (9) of Idaho’s recovery centers, where there was an event to celebrate Recovery Month in each community.
Recovery centers are a valuable asset to Idaho, offering a resource for people seeking to achieve or maintain long-term recovery.  Recovery centers offer support by providing a community of peers that may share similar experiences.

For additional events happening throughout Idaho in support of recovery, please see our calendar at www.BehavioralHealthEvents.dhw.idaho.gov.
